iPad 4 Nearly 10% Heavier Than iPad 3

The Apple event sort of glossed over lightning integration and a new processor for the Retina iPad, essentially upgrading it from the 3rd generation to 4th generation. It is understandable why Apple didn't go into much detail regarding the upgrades for the new retina iPad...they show was stolen by the iPad mini anyhow.

iPad 3rd gen
Height: 241.2 mm Width: 185.7 mm Depth: 9.4 mm Weight: 601g for Wi-Fi model, 622g for the Wi-Fi and 4G model

iPad 4th gen
Height: 241.2 mm Width: 185.7 mm Depth: 9.4 mm Weight: 652g for Wi-Fi model, 662g for the Wi-Fi and 4G model

iPad 2 (still available)

  1. I am still a little peeved that they upgraded the iPad 3 so soon.. I guess that's why they dropped the model numbers from the official name (?)>

The iPad 3 is already heavy enough!
