iPhone 4GS Resolution

The new iPhone is expected to include a larger 4-inch display, that will not be wider..but instead only taller. The current iPhone resolution is 960 by 640, the new iPhone is expected to have a resolution of 1136 by 640 according to 9to5Mac.


The taller display can be scaled to show a 5th row of icons in iOS 6, and is scaled to be 176 pixels longer with the same pixel width. Using the iOS Simulator program available for iOS developers, they were able to run the iOS beta with a springboard stretching 4 rows of icons. iOS 6 was able to test the iPhone display with 5 complete rows of icons.
