iPad Mini For "Significantly less" Money

With many touting the smaller iPad rumors over the past month or so, it is pretty much certain the Apple will be releasing a smaller 7.85-in tablet sometime this fall. A few of the unknown variables included "When" and "how much" and according to the New York Times this is some certainty...it will be cheaper (duh):

The company is developing a new tablet with a 7.85-inch screen that is likely to sell for significantly less than the latest $499 iPad, with its 9.7-inch display, according to several people with knowledge of the project who declined to be named discussing confidential plans. The product is expected to be announced this year.

The iPad is $499 and the iPad 2 is $399...I would guess that the iPad Mini would come in at around $249 or possibly $199 to compete directly with the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire tablets.
