How To Jailbreak your iPad in iOS 6

If you haven't heard, the iOS 6 Jailbreak team releasing a developer jailbreak version for the newly announced iOS 6...then you are in for some good news. After only being available for a couple days, MuscleNerd and the iPhone Dev Team have updated redsn0w to 0.9.13dev1 to support a jailbreak of iOS 6.

Caution: This jailbreak is directed toward developers only and works on the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th generation and probably the original iPad. This jailbreak is tethered requiring that your device be connected to a computer when rebooting your jailbroken device.

STEP 1: Download and open RedSn0w 0.9.13 dev 1 Mac - Windows

STEP 2: Click Extras, select IPSW, then point your iOS 6 firmware file to your Apple device.

STEP 3: Go back a screen, then click jailbreak. Put your iPad into DFU mode to begin the jailbreaking process. Redsn0w will ask you to install SSH, need to ensure that option is checked before clicking Next. Allow the jailbreak to complete

STEP 4: After your iPad has returned to the homescreen, go to extras in redsn0w to perform a just boot. Put your iPad into DFU mode to proceed with the jailbreak.

STEP 5: When you return to your iPad homescreen, your iPad is jailbroken in iOS 6.

Now iOS 6 jailbreak developers can use SSH to browse the default iOS 6 file structure, Cydia is not supported on the iPad in iOS 6 at this time. Advanced users can now test or install apps and jailbreak tweaks onto their iPad.

Are you planning to jailbreak your iPad in iOS 6?
