New iPad Cellular Connection Issues

With my iPad 2, I can flawlessly switch back and forth from my home/work WiFi connection and 3G cellular data connectivity. The only issues I've had with the iPad 2 is when my broadband dies out, but the WiFi connection is still present and active. I have to toggle off WiFi to utilize the 3G connection when my Roadrunner is on the blink but my router is still staying connected to my iPad 2.

My "New iPad" is 4G LTE and is quite fast, but when I jump onto WiFi and back to cellular data I sometimes have issues where the new iPad "Could not activate cellular data network". My work around for this issues is a reboot of my new iPad which is a royal pain in the butt. The separate LTE toggle on the new 4G iPad seems to be the glitch creating problems where 4G LTE isn't available.

My work location doesn't have 4G LTE, but close to my home I do have access. Is anyone else having trouble with their new iPad connecting to 3G, 4G LTE or WiFi or poor performance?

  1. My new iPad uses the AT&T network in metro Detroit and while I absolutely love the device, I am very disappointed with the cellular connection. I have been trolling the forums and boards for tips, and have tried just about every suggestion made with no luck.

My general solution is to turn off the cellular network and only activate it when I am somewhere without wifi. Yes this is not at all what I had expected, nor what I had grown accustomed to doing with my earlier iPad 1 and iPad 2 (which my family use with no problems).

iPad, I'm Lovin' IT!
