iPad Trademark Rejected In China

A court in southern China has rejected Apple's lawsuit against Proview Technology for infringing on their iPad trademark according to Reuters. Many fake Apple stores were found in southwestern Yunnan province as well, furthering hurting Apple's reputation in China. Proview lawfully registered the iPad trademark back in 2000 for different products in many different countries, including China.

Apple is currently in the process of opening Apple Stores in China, the right to use the iPad name is crucial for success. Proview is also taking legal action, seeking 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) in compensation from Apple for copyright infringement. Let the games begin...
