iPad Demand Fading [Goldman]

Goldman Sachs analyst Bill Shope released a somewhat troubling report for Apple fans, saying that demand for the iPad is fading. Near-term demand challenges due to several factors could hinder iPad sales temporarily, they point to three key factors in early 2012: (1) the continued adoption of iCloud, (2) the launch of Siri on the iPad, and (3) the addition of lower price points similar to refurbished iPad price reductions.

Bill Shope thinks that the iPad is long overdue for a price cut, the iPhone prices were cut dramatically in the first year of release. I think that Apple has found a good price point, but can probably afford to drop the price down to $399 to give Amazon a little Christmas competition. Especially since the iPad production cost is around $300.
