1st Generation iPad Gestures Gone In iOS 5

According to The Next Web, gestures are not being supported on the 1st generation iPad. This is a game breaker for updating my 4 year-olds iPad to iOS 5. My daughter (4) and son (3) never touch the he button, and would probably wear it out it they had to use it.

Gestures were actually never included as a public iOS feature, they were enabled with Xcode and meant “for developers only”. The gestures allow you to swipe 4 fingers from left-to-right (or right-to-left) for quick app switching, swipe 4 fingers up for the app switcher (instead of double tapping home button), and pinching with 4 fingers to close an app and return to the SpringBoard.

It appears support still exists for the iPad 2 in developer XCode. Hopefully, a jailbreak developer will provide a hack to enable gestures. Gestures make my iPad experience much more enjoyable and simple!
