iPad Battery Usage Menu

It is quite simple to enable the battery usage menu for iPad to make it similar to the iPhone in showing usage and standby time. It doesn't make sense why Apple left this out for the iPad, but included it for the iPhone.

There are a few lines of code you'll need to remove from your disk using iFile. When you are done you'll know how to enable the "Usage" menu on any iPad, iPad 2, or iPod Touch.

To start, open iFile select 'Disk' on the left. Scroll down and open the Preferences.app

Now open General.plist in Text Viewer

Change to Edit mode and Delete these "requiredCapabilities" lines of code (enlarged image) BE SURE TO SAVE your changes

Now open Usage Preferences.plist in Text Viewer

Now your done, reboot and go to your settings page to see your usage statistics.

Once you charge your iPad and begin to use it...your battery statistics will update after each complete charge.
