iPhone 4G Cost To Implement

According to Redmond Pie and Giz-China, the next iPhone will include 4G LTE capability to enties China Mobile (600 million subscribers) to offer the iPhone. With well just over 100 million iPhones sold, Apple would only need a small percentage of the China Mobile subscribers to make a sizeable dent in their sales.

The cost to implement 4G capability according to iSuppli into the iPhone is around $40, ignoring the impact to battery life or other issues. Android 4G phones currently being offered have this price increase implemented, and may make it difficult for Apple to hold the price steady with 4G capabilities along with capacity upgrades.
