Apple Most Popular Smartphone in U.S.

According to comScore, 76 million people in the U.S. owned a smartphone during the 3 months ending May 2011. Apple accounted for over 26% of the OEM Share with only 2 different phones available for sale. Armed with only the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, Apple is #1. RIM was a close 2nd with nearly 25% of the market share, but many owners are likely looking to upgrade their phone in the coming months.

I would suspect that less than 50% of BlackBerry owners will buy another one as their next smartphone, Verizon and other retailers are really not pushing the RIM devices like they were 2 years ago.
