New Apple iSpaceship Building in 2015

Apple looked quite well yesterday at the Cupertino city council meeting when he presented the new Apple Spaceship. Apple purchased some adjacent land to the current Infinite Loop campus in Cupertino from HP. According to All Things D, the 150 acres for upward of $300 million according to a real estate expert.

It is expected that many of the 57 buildings occupied by Apple in the area will be given up to take residence in the new circular campus building. This will be only one building, for 12,000 to 13,000 people.

In Steve's words:
It's a pretty amazing building. It's a little like a spaceship landed. It's got this gorgeous courtyard in the middle... It's a circle. It's curved all the way around. If you build things, this is not the cheapest way to build something. There is not a straight piece of glass in this building. It's all curved. We've used our experience making retail buildings all over the world now, and we know how to make the biggest pieces of glass in the world for architectural use. And, we want to make the glass specifically for this building here. We can make it curve all the way around the building... It's pretty cool.
One council member noted that the closest Apple Store was in San Jose and wondered what it would take to get one in Cupertino. Jobs answered by stating that Cupertino didn't have enough traffic to support a retail store. Nice try though...

Here's the whole council meeting if interested, 20+ minutes
