Today at the D9 Conference, CEO Giles BianRosa launched the movie directory service iPad app FanHattan. The discovery app is designed to help consumers find the films and television content they are looking for and help narrow their search. A certain movie may be available for "rent to purchase" and subscription, for download, streaming, or is still in theatres or new to DVD.
Fanhattan allows users to browse content or search by titles, genres, actor/actress, new releases, etc. After choosing a title, the iPad app shows which online or offline options a user has to watch. Users can also access other content featuring the same actors, check out reviews, give their rating, view trailers, find related YouTube videos, as well as locate fan gear from Amazon, show tickets from Fandango or preview soundtracks through iTunes.
Find Movies and TV shows from across the most popular digital media services including Netflix, iTunes, Hulu Plus. Browse related content including reviews from Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, ratings, trailers, actor and crew bios, soundtracks, fan gear, and more. Choose how you want to watch your entertainment rent, buy, or subscribe.
My Apple TV doesn't really help me find the shows I want to watch, I have to search NetFlix, iTunes and my HuluPlus subscriptions separately. Going to give this app a try and I'll provide my experiences in the coming weeks.
Fanhattan is available for FREE from the App Store.
