Next iPad with 3D camera?
The Nintendo 3DS has managed to incorporate 3d capabilities into their gaming device, surely Apple can add 3D camera and screen capability into their iPad. Apple filed a patent before Thanksgiving called “Systems and Methods for an Imaging System Using Multiple Image Sensors.” which may enable iOS devices to take 3D photos and movies.
The concept isn’t far-fetched, as the Nintendo 3DS already can capture 3Dimages. Currently, these devices haven't been able to produce high quality images, relying mainly on software tricks (edge detection) to create the 3D effect on the iPad. Apple is planning to use hardware to combine a depth sensor to dual cameras, which will estimate the distance between objects on the image, and produce accurate 3D imagery.
