iOS 4.3.1 iPad jailbreak with redsn0w (Video)

We (er..Danny) at iPad Jailbreak decided to put together an quick tutorial of the 7 steps discussed in a post yesterday discussing how to jailbreak your iPad with redsn0w. This video demonstration is specifically for those running the current version of Apple's iOS 4.3.1, and will the steps will be the same for the iPod Touch, iPhone, and the iPad.

It seems that many people have a little difficulty understanding how to get their iPad into DFU Mode, but redsn0w walks you through the steps.

Drop a comment either here or on the YouTube video if you have any questions or concerns regarding the steps to jailbreak your iPad. Best of luck...and I hope you like the band Seether too! Danny is planning to continue to bring tutorials for the different upcoming jailbreak methods on iOS, and hopefully will be able to provide the steps for your iPad 2 soon too!

  1. Only note is that the picture is displaying an iPad2 even though this is not supported by the jailbreak yet :)

  2. The iPad 2 jailbreak can't come soon enough!
We need to test a finished app in the iPad 2 but f**king Apple still hasn't approved our iOS developer program request (and we sen't the documents they asked for like 3 weeks ago), so we can actually test our app in a real device. So now our only option to test in iPad 1 is jailbreak. I hope JB comes for iPad 2 soon!

    Keep up the good work!

  4. Hi, I downloaded the firmware iPad1,1_4.3.1_8G4_Restore. When I run redsn0w and it asks for the IPSW file, it cannot find it in the firmware folder that I downloaded. Looking through that folder I dont find anything in there with that extension. Any help would be grateful. I am running windows

  5. Check in your download folder...or just re-download the 600 MB file and specify a folder so you can find it!

  6. you didnt mention if you have to restore your already pre-jailbroken ipad to default before jailbreaking again because leaving out that detail could result in a 500 dollar brick

You should not just update, You should restore your iPad to the Lastest Software, Not just Update.
