Back before Christmas, p0sixninja confronted MuscleNerd about a potential leak of the SHAtter exploit. Now it appears the not only has limera1n been patched in the iPad 2's bootrom, but now also SHAtter has also been patched as well.
It appears the early iPad 2 jailbreaks will be userland only according to MuscleNerd.
From previous GeoHot reports, it appears the rubyra1n will be the name for his next Apple exploit. The limera1n exploit exists in the hardware from Apple and would require Apple to perform a hardware revision to patch. It really is too bad that the SHAtter exploit was burned before getting incorporated into an iPad jailbreak.
