Netflix Passes YouTube, Hulu Insignificant

Maybe Google acquired the wrong video company back in 2006 when it paid $1.65 billion in stock for YouTube. Goldman surveyed 2,000 US consumers and asked which site they preferred to watch video online. According to chart below, Netflix is the obvious leader in all the different age groups. I have a streaming package with Netflix for less than $10 and watch it on my iPad(s) and Apple TV.

In February, Netflix is trailing in that they have only 20 million subscribers and YouTube had over 140 million uniques in February by comparison.

According to the NPD Group, 61% of legal movie streaming is coming from Netflix...followed by ComCast, Direct TV, Time Warner, and Apple. What is really surprising is the merely a year ago...you would have likely seen Hulu in the range of Comcast, but instead they have dropped to the other (not worth mentioning) category. I think I watched every single episode of Arrested Development on Hulu a couple years back...not they are insignificant.
