iPad iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak Testing (Beta)

If you are an iPad user, or you accidentally upgraded to iOS 4.3 since a jailbreak was supposedly on it's way...you can now rest easy that beta testing of an untethered iPad jailbreak is occurring according to Stefan Esser. Apple patched a few exploits with the abrupt release of iOS 4.3.1, but appears to have left this iPad jailbreak exploit available for jailbreakers.

I have been avoiding the tethered jailbreak versions like the plague since they really can be a pain. Well known hacker i0n1c (Stefan Esser) tweeted a couple days ago the iPhone Dev Team is beta testing his untethered jailbreak. As the Dev Team is running to prepare a software release for an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.3, we will have to wait patiently. In the three weeks since the iOS 4.3 (and iPad 2) release, there hasn't been much news coming from the jailbreak community.

  1. He also posted that he has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE iPAD 2 JAILBREAK... You are posting misinformation! The jailbreak the Dev-Team is testing is for everything BUT the ipad 2...

  2. This jailbreak is focused on iOS 4.3.1, not iPad 2...thanks!
