iOS 4.3.1 Being Prepped To Address Bugs

Apple is getting ready to release a new version of iOS within the next couple weeks according to Boy Genius Report. This update (being called iOS 4.3.1) will not bring any new functionality, but instead is focused on fixing leftover bugs in iOS 4.3 released a couple weeks back.

The changes brought by the update are expected to be as follows:
  • Baseband updates for the 3GS and 1st gen iPad
  • Fix memory hang resuting in memory corruption while reading large files from USIM
  • Fix problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites
  • Fix iPad 2 jailbreak exploit vulnerability
  • Fix issue with Springboard and 3rd party apps not recognizing the gyro on iPad 2
This update isn't kind of a downer if you were planning to jailbreak your iPad, you may have to stick with your untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak. According to Charlie Miller's (Pwn2Own contest winner) tweet, Apple has been informed about this vulnerability and they're going to fix it in the next update.
