Motorola has aimed their "high-end" tablet squarely at Apple with the attention to luxury and detail. "Competing with Apple you have to deliver premium products," Jha stated.
Motorola is somewhat a latecomer to the Tablet market, one that Apple and it's iPad have over a 75% stake. The Apple iPad (and iPad 2) is projected to reach 50 million in sales, Motorola and their Xoom would be thrilled to snag 20% of their market away.
Jha also expelled the rumors that the WiFi Motorola Xoom would require a service contract with a carrier. The $800 price tag is and unsubsidized price, it could be likely to see a 3G Motorola Xoom at Verizon for $599 with a contract. Or the price may depend on the amount of data associated with your Verizon data plan.
Verizon Wireless data plans look like...
1GB - $20
3GB - $35
5GB - $50
10GB - $80
...for the different monthly plans.
