Nokia, Windows Team Up

Windows 7 is now officially Nokia’s “principal smartphone strategy” meaning that the Finnish company will get rid of Symbian & MeeGo. Symbian is still the current OS market leader with a 36.6% share...followed closely by Android (25.5%) and iOS (16.7%). It appears that Windows 7 Mobile will finally get a chance to prove itself with Nokia, I'm not holding my breath!

From the Nokia Press Release:

With Nokia’s planned move to Windows Phone as its primary smartphone platform, Symbian becomes a franchise platform, leveraging previous investments to harvest additional value. This strategy recognizes the opportunity to retain and transition the installed base of 200 million Symbian owners. Nokia expects to sell approximately 150 million more Symbian devices in the years to come.

  1. I've owned my iPad for a month now, and in that time I've noticed a disturbing trend. You Apple fanboys really are as bad as everyone says you are. It took me less than 10 minutes of browsing through this site to be completely put off by your blatant bias.

The problem isn't that you believe that Apple's products are the best. It's that you seem to have a hard time talking about non-Apple products without trashing them.

I own multiple Android devices, an iPad, an iPod Touch, and a WP7. They're all different, but they're also all great. Microsoft may have wasted years before finally trying to get with the times when it comes to mobile devices, but this time, they delivered. For phones, I've actually grown to like WP7 so much that my HD7 is now my daily driver.

The stigma of the old Windows Mobile OS still haunts MS, and it's going to take time for them to overcome that. But, the product is no longer part of the problem. They still have a bit if work to do...a few features to add (which will be added very soon), but what's their now is truly great.

Maybe you should try removing your Apple colored glasses once in a while. You may find yourself pleasantly surprised. Who knows, you may even get people to actually start consistently visiting and commenting in your blog.

iPad, I'm Lovin' IT!
