LifeProof For iPad
After seeing what the LifeProof iPhone case is capable of, I really thing an iPad LifeProof case is a good idea! They dunked Greg Tseng (Tagged CEO) iPhone 4 into a bowl, covered it with ketchup and mustard, covered it with dirt and flowers...then tossed it into a fish tank of water to clean it back off. Greg's iPhone was protected by the LifeProof case, which is shockproof and waterproof. The most impressive part, is that the case adds only 1/16th of an inch (1.5 mm)...increasing the overall iPhone 4 thickness from 9.3mm to just under 11mm.
Over $1 million was invested to develop the Lifeproof case (and more than 20 patents have been filed), pricing for the iPhone 4 LifeProof case is at $69. The LifeProof case turns your iPhone into an nice underwater camera, or a shower time iPod player I guess.
We've been told the shock protection is effective at "typical drop heights", which are assumed to be from 3 to 6 feet. An iPad LifeProof case with the same capabilities would likely run close to $100, so the market might be limited to the business users for iPads...like a waiter/waitress.
An iPad LifeProof case would be much nicer than the alternative waterproof case.
