After many rumors of Apple working on a smaller iPhone to better compete with Google, now discussions regarding the next iPhone (iPhone 5) may have a larger 4-inch display. DigiTimes claims to have an inside scoop that the iPhone 5 will have a screen which is 15% larger, but the exterior of the iPhone will remain virtually the same.
Apple reportedly will change the screen size of iPhone to 4-inch for its fifth generation iPhone to compete with the Google Android platform in the 4- to 7-inch smartphone market, according to upstream component suppliers.
Reports that Apple will adopt the Samsung Super LPS screen technology for the next iPhone(s) along with NFC capabilities for streamlining mobile payments...hopefully with LTE as some have rumored. Making the iPhone 5 a worldphone with integrated GSM/CDMA antennas would be the icing on the cake for Apple.
Concluding, lets combine these rumors together...it appears that Apple may have 3 different iPhone models. A smaller nano-iPhone rumored the past couple days, an base model iPhone 5 with a 4 inch screen, and finally an iPhone 5 with an integrated keyboard for those (like me) that enjoy having a physical keyboard. My original DROID w/ keyboard has been good to me, after 17 months of use the keyboard is becoming quite noisy but is still functional.
Hopefully, some of these questions regarding the iPhone 5 will be answered at the Apple event in March.
