Apple sold 7.3 million iPads, or an increase of 3 million since last quarter, with distribution in 46 countries at the end of 2010. There seems to be great enthusiasm for iPads for individual, business, and educational customers. Enterprise CIOs are adding the iPad to their "approved device list" at an impressive rate.
Currently, over 80% of the Fortune 100 companies have deployed or are piloting the iPad...up from 65% in the last quarter. This includes JPMorgan Chase, Cardinal Health, Wells Fargo, Sears, and Dupont.
Sales from the iPad and iPad accessories this past quarter were at $4.61 billion with iPad sales making up $4.4 billion, an average sale price of $600.
