Fortune has collected and posted the predictions of professional and amateur analysts for Apple sales figures for their past quarter. In last quarter, Apple sold 3.9 million Macs, 14.1 million iPhones, 9 million iPods and 4.2 million iPads...alond with record revenuce of over $20 billion and around $4 billion profit. For the holiday quarter, many are predicting revenue around $25 billion with varying numbers of iDevices being sold.
Apple will announce their official numbers later this afternoon with an audio-only conference call webcast. Apple is expected to report impressive numbers for the holiday quarter, including the introduction of the MacBook Air sales numbers. These sales should give a good boost to the overall Mac sales numbers. I'd expect nearly 5 million Mac to be sold in this past quarter, but looking at the analyst numbers this jump isn't expected.
During the Question/Answer period following the call could shed additional light on Steve Jobs' upcoming leave of absence. Yesterday's announcement by the Apple CEO was a "business" day for many, but not the stock market. AAPL is currently down, but has recovered to only a 3% drop for trading today.
