Now that you have upgraded to iOS 4.2.1 on your iPad, MobileMe is free...but if your are still concerned about your iPad being stolen and becoming unrecoverable, there is a solution for you.
Maclocks developed the iPad Lock, basically a clear plastic case combined with a Kensington type cable lock which connects to the side of your case.
This is probably a good idea for an iPad that is available at a public place such as a restuarant or maybe inside a car dealership. But the $65 price-tag may be enough to deter someone to buy for a personal iPad.
This maybe a good idea if you have your iPad dashmounted in your car...you could probably hide the cable underneath the dash, a car thief will likely not have his lock cutter with him.
Maybe the iPad can learn to defend itself...
I think the Kindle will lose with a KO!
