SlingPlayer On iPad

If you are not familiar with the Slingbox, it is a TV streaming device made by Sling Media that encodes video to send over the Internet. It uses the SlingPlayer application to send TV content to your computers, smartphones, and the iPad. It’s quite useful because it allows you to remotely view and control your home’s cable, satellite, or personal video recorder (PVR) system from an Internet-enabled computer with a broadband Internet connection.

This new iPad app will be able to navigate through your favorite channels and watch programming at a time-shift. You will be able to fast forward a prerecorded video and adjust the aspect ratio on streams to match the full screen viewing on your device.

The release date is not specified, but a price of $29.99 for the app is listed. SlingPlayer has added a video walkthrough of their upcoming SlingPlayer Mobile for iPad application and it does look impressive.

Well hopefully we won't have to shell out another $30 for the iPad version if we already purchased the iPhone version!
