LG reportedly pulled the plug on their plans for an Android 2.2 tablet...stating they are now holding out for the Android 3.0 release.
LG made early claims that their tablet would be “better than the iPad”, but now have apparently gave up on Android 2.2 (Froyo) as the OS was not built to work on tablets in the first place. Google representatives themselves recently admitted that Android 2.2 was not designed for tablets larger the 7 inches.
"We plan to introduce a tablet that runs on the most reliable Android version ... We are in talks with Google to decide on the most suitable version for our tablet and that is not Froyo 2.2."
LG has just joined the club of companies waiting for Android 3.0 (Gingerbread) along with Motorola and HTC. LG’s decision also makes Samsung the only left to release an Android 2.2 tablet. On the bright side, LG does make the display for the iPad.
