VLC iPad File Sharing

VLC Media Player can be downloaded for free directly from the App store using our iPad's Wi-Fi connection, you could also do it via 3G or using iTunes if you so wish (10MB).

To use VLC to play your files you first go to iTunes, then click the Apps tab. You will see the File sharing section, select VLC and then 'Add' your files. You can then browse the files on your computer to choose which ones you want to add to your iPad.

Once you've added your movie files to your iPad, its as easy as opening the VLC app on the iPad. Your video files will be neatly lined up on a bookshelf much like the one in Apple's iBooks app.

MKV files need not apply...

You can choose to try to play it anyway, but most of the MKV files we attempted to view on the good-old iPad were unwatchable. But the audio worked...

Other file types that had issues on VLC were MPG, MOV, and WMV files... they transferred easily enough, but didn't display in the app.
