RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook is designed to attack the iPad based on specifications. The Playbook touts a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, micro-HDMI output, symmetrical dual-core processing, and support for 1080p HD video playback. It also features both rear-facing (5MP) and front-facing (3MP) camera, capable of HD video recording and still photos.
The PlayBook weighs just 14 ounces and can mimic the BlackBerry phone, giving users a bigger screen to view media and edit documents. BlackBerry PlayBook is 0.4 inches (9.7 mm) thick, making it thinner than the iPad’s 0.5 inches.
RIM expects the device will become available for sale to the public early next year,
