Don't Update Your Jailbroken iPad

Apple recently released iOS 4.0.1 for iPhone, but they also released iOS 3.2.1 for iPad. This patch for the iPad may not break new ground, but it does fix a few nagging problems, most notably a Wi-Fi connectivity issue reported by many iPad users.

The update also adds Microsoft's Bing as an option for Safari's search field, although Google Search remains the default choice. According to the Apple Support site, iOS 3.2.1 also fixes:

  • A glitch that could prevent a copy/paste of single-page PDF attachments in Mail
  • A bug that could cause video playback to freeze
  • Reliability of video-out when using the iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter

If you are currently, or plan to be on a jailbroken iPhone or iPad and want to keep your jailbreak, make sure that you DO NOT update until further notice. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until the Dev Team releases a jailbreak for the latest firmware.

While updating your device to the latest iOS is not a dramatic error, it might prevent you from jailbreaking it in the future....
