Significant International iPad Usage

According to Yahoo, 10% of iPad traffic is coming from outside the US. Despite the fact that the Apple gadget is not yet available to international users.

In an analysis of users of its iPad application, Yahoo! also found that users were most likely to be middle-aged men, between 35 and 44.

“One surprising data point is the non-US IP traffic on the iPad that’s coming to Yahoo! During the measurement period, the iPad has only been available for purchase in the U.S. market; however, we observe approximately 10 per cent of IP traffic coming from Europe and Asia Pacific. Specifically, the U.K., France, and Germany are the top countries in Europe, and Taiwan and Hong Kong make up the most traffic in Asia Pacific.”

This prompted us to check the traffic looking to jailbreak their at

Nearly 40% of the traffic visiting in the past couple weeks, to potentially jailbreak their iPad are not from the U.S.

The iPad is scheduled for UK release at the end of May. Apple will announce the UK release date and confirm pricing on Monday, May 10th.

  1. I'm an American living about 70% in Canada (I travel for work, mostly in the US and occasionally in Europe and Asia). So, count me in in that number. I got this thing specifically for traveling.
